Event Details

Do you enjoy collaborating with colleagues, peers and friends for the greater good?

Then join IEI for its 2nd Annual Discovery Forum on November 13 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Cobblestone Hall in Raleigh, sponsored by BB&T. This event is designed to discover innovative ideas and unsung leaders in North Carolina and its communities through five-minute presentations, networking, and socialization!

We want presenters to keep things short and sweet so we have more time for conversation.  These talks are teasers, to leave you wanting more – and wanting to do more to make them happen.

We promise to entertain, educate and inspire you five minutes at a time!

Call for Presenters

Do you have an entrepreneurial idea to improve your community? Are you already at work putting an idea into action and want to share it with others? Or are you launching a new social venture that would benefit members of your community? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then you should present at this year’s Discovery Forum! You’ll be able to tell other community members about your idea or venture and garner new supporters or collaborators!

Send your idea, with an exciting headline and a short description (no more than 100 words) to john_coggin@ncsu.edu by OCTOBER 2. Presenters will be determined by a public vote hosted on IEI’s website that will run October 8-12. Your idea MUST be tied directly to making your community better! If not, it will not be eligible for the public vote.

The top 10 vote getters will be presenters at this year’s Discovery Forum and will also be invited to a pre-opening sneak peak at the new Emerging Issues Commons at the James B Hunt Jr. Library on NC State’s Centennial Campus. During this sneak peak, you will receive free leadership development training from our state’s top leaders to help further your creative community idea!
